Lorry rear end shunted a car at red traffic lights causing whiplash injuries to the car driver

Our client was driving his car when he stopped at a set of red traffic lights.  Suddenly and without warning, our client’s car was rear end shunted by a lorry.  Despite wearing a seatbelt, our client sustained whiplash injuries to his neck and back and suffered pain around his kneecaps.

Lawson-West began a personal injury claim.  The accident was the lorry driver’s fault as he:-

• failed to keep a proper look out;
• drove too fast;
• failed to notice our client’s car;
• failed to stop, slow down or control his lorry to avoid the accident;

Our client was driving to a training course.  Two work colleagues were passengers in the car.  Our client stopped at a main roundabout, waiting for traffic to clear.  Suddenly he was rear end shunted by another car driver.

Our client had stopped at a junction, waiting to turn left from a side road so that he could continue his journey.  Suddenly another car rear end shunted our client’s car causing injuries.

Our client was driving a van and had stopped at a set of pedestrian traffic lights that were red to road traffic.  The weather and road were dry and visibility clear.  Suddenly another van collided with the rear of our client’s van.

The driver of the car who had caused the accident was reluctant to involve the insurers as she was not named on the insurance policy.  However, our client was awarded £2000 in general damages for her whiplash and shoulder injury.
