Our client was driving a van and had stopped at a set of pedestrian traffic lights that were red to road traffic. The weather and road were dry and visibility clear. Suddenly another van collided with the rear of our client’s van.
The other driver was at fault because he:
· was driving too fast.
· failed to keep a proper look out for other vehicles.
· failed to see our client’s van.
· failed to stop, slow down or manage his van so as to avoid the accident.
As a result of the rear end shunt, our client sustained whiplash to his neck and shoulders and saw his GP for advice. Lawson West began an accident compensation claim on our client’s behalf.
Due to his injuries our client had to take two days off work and he was prevented from playing his usual cricket and golf for three weeks.
Liability was admitted. Lawson West recovered accident compensation of £2000 in respect of our client’s whiplash injuries. He was expected to make a full recovery within six to nine months of the accident.
